The following lists the various dray status options for the Dray Status field in the Routing form (on page 1), and the updates N4 performs for each dray status.
Forward to Loading Point
You can use this dray status for a unit if the vessel it was intended to go on is not coming to the facility anymore or if the unit missed the vessel and you want to send it out on a truck to the next facility where it can be loaded on the vessel.
When you specify the Forward to Loading Point dray status for the selected unit(s), N4 does not update the routing for the unit. You must update the routing for the unit manually, if needed, using the Routing form (on page 1).
Return to shipper
You can use this dray status to return a container to the shipper if there is something wrong with the container.
When you specify the Return to shipper dray status for the selected unit(s), N4 does not update the routing for the unit. You must update the routing for the unit manually, if needed, using the Routing form (on page 1).
Dray In
When you specify the Dray In status for the selected unit(s), N4 updates:
I/B Visit to GEN_TRUCK
Position to T-GEN_TRUCK
If the unit is located on a vessel per a BAPLIE, N4 removes the unit from the inbound stow plan.
If a unit is located in the facility, you cannot specify the unit as Dray In.
Dray Out and Back
You can use this dray status if the same unit must leave the facility and then return; for example, to send a unit for an offsite inspection.
When you specify the Dray Out and Back status for the selected unit(s) N4 does not update the routing for the unit.
When you deliver the unit out the gate N4 creates a new unit facility visit at the same facility the unit is departing from and updates the new unit as follows:
Transit State to Advised
I/B Intended Visit to GEN_TRUCK
O/B Visit to current unit outbound. N4 applies the information of the departed outbound unit to the current advised new unit.
If you receive a unit with the dray status Dray Out and Back or Transfer to other Facility and the I/B Actual Visit is Truck, N4 clears the Dray Status of the unit.
If you cancel a Dray In (RI) gate transaction for a container that has a UNIT_REROUTE event with the description as Dray Out and Back --> null, N4 updates the dray status of the container to Offsite.
When you depart a unit on a chassis, N4 allows you to receive back the same unit with the same chassis or a different chassis.
If you set the INVBILLING019 (BILLING_UNIT_EVENTS_RETAIN_PROPERTIES_DEPARTED_UFV) setting to True, perform a Dray Off (DE) transaction for an import unit with dray status Dray Out and Back, and extract the UNIT_OUT_GATE event manually, N4 extracts the departed Unit Facility Visit's (UFV's) billable unit events before creating the advised UFV. Due to this, N4 retains the departed unit’s properties for the new advised UFV.
Transfer to other Facility
If a facility relay exists and the unit's POD equals the next facility in the facility relay, when you specify the Transfer to other Facility status for the selected unit(s) N4 updates:
O/B Intended Visit to the carrier mode specified in the facility relay
When you deliver the unit out the gate N4 creates a new unit facility visit at the next facility specified in the facility relay and updates the new unit as follows:
Transit State to Inbound
I/B Intended Visit to the carrier mode specified in the facility relay
O/B Intended Visit to GEN_TRUCK
When a drayed container and equipment depart the first facility, you can use the setting INVOUTGATE005 (CREATE_UFV_FOR_DRAYED_EQUIPMENT) (on page 1) to determine whether N4 should create the inbound carriage unit in the next facility
If you receive a unit with the dray status Dray Out and Back or Transfer to other Facility and the I/B Actual Visit is Truck, N4 clears the Dray Status of the unit.
If the dray status of a Departed container is Return To Shipper, the Tally In of the order and the order item does not include that container even if it was received against that order. This happens if the container was received against the Booking/ERO/RO (tally in was incremented on receival), but then later on it was returned to the shipper.
Dray Status and Business Tasks
The following business tasks update the dray status of a unit based on the specific requirements:
ClearDrayStatus: When included for a Dray In (RI) gate transaction, the business task clears the Dray Status of a container when it is received at the gate if the Dray Status of the container was set to any one of the following values:
Return To Shipper
Offsite
Dray In
CreateContainerVisit: If the Dray Status of the unit being received is set as Return To Shipper or Offsite, the CreateContainerVisit business task clears the Dray Status of the unit. In addition, for a unit with the dray status, Return To Shipper, the business task also copies any releases associated with the container to the new unit facility visit for the container.
While pre-advising a unit, if the outbound carrier visit is for a non-operational facility, set the dray status of the unit as Forward to Loading Point.
If the dray status of the container specified in the pre-selection criteria at the gate is set as Offsite, Return To Shipper, or Transfer, N4 automatically sets the gate transaction type as Deliver Export (DE).
For an export container coming back to the facility, if the previous unit facility visit had the dray status Return To Shipper, N4 checks to see if the unit is coming back on the same booking or not. If the container is returning on the same booking, N4 copies the holds and permissions of the previous unit facility visit to the new facility visit created at the gate.
When you use EDI to post a Dray In (RI) gate transaction appointment, N4 automatically sets the dray status of the unit as Dray In.
